Cyber Islamic University Officially Holds 2024 SN GES Scholarship Recipient Inauguration and Launches BIPA Program for International Students

UIN Siber Cirebon – Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, also known as Cyber Islamic University (CIU), held the inauguration ceremony for the 2024 Syekh Nurjati Global Excellence Scholarship (SN GES) recipients and launched the Indonesian Language Program for Foreign Speakers (BIPA). The event took place in a lively atmosphere on Monday morning at the UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon campus. The ceremony was attended by the Rector of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, Prof. Dr. H. Aan Jaelani, M.Ag., along with university officials, deans, and invited guests, including the Head of the International Office and Partnership Center, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., and the Head of Cultural Affairs for the City of Cirebon, Ramli Effendi, S.Kep.Ners, M.Kep., on Monday (09/09/2024).

In his welcoming speech, Prof. Dr. H. Aan Jaelani, M.Ag., emphasized that the presence of international students is a crucial step in strengthening UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon's global reputation. "We are proud to welcome the recipients of the SN GES scholarship. The presence of international students on this campus enriches the academic and cultural dynamics, in line with our vision of becoming a globally competitive university," he stated. He also emphasized that the university is committed to providing the best facilities and supporting the development of international students' achievements.

The launch of the BIPA Program was the highlight of the event, as part of efforts to facilitate international students in learning the Indonesian language and understanding the local culture. The Head of the International Office and Partnership Center, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., explained the importance of this program in supporting foreign students' adaptation in Indonesia. "The BIPA Program not only provides language training but also serves as a bridge to introduce the richness of Indonesian culture to international students," Lala explained.

Ramli Effendi, S.Kep.Ners, M.Kep., the Head of Cultural Affairs for the City of Cirebon, also expressed his appreciation in his speech. He conveyed full support from the local government for UIN SSC's initiative to invite international students. "The presence of foreign students strengthens international relations and promotes Cirebon as a cultural city open to international collaboration," Ramli stated.



This year, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon welcomes 11 international students from various countries, including the Philippines, Thailand, and Sudan. The SN GES and BIPA programs are part of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon's strategy to expand its international educational network through scholarships and global collaborations. The presence of these international students is expected to enrich the academic experience and have a positive impact on the development of campus culture.

An orientation session was also held as part of the event, providing students with insights into the academic system, campus facilities, and extracurricular activities available to them. The BIPA program is specifically designed to help them adapt more quickly to the academic environment and culture of Indonesia, enabling them to actively engage in campus life and the surrounding community.


With the launch of the BIPA Program and the acceptance of international students through the SN GES scholarship, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon demonstrates its commitment to being an active university in fostering global collaboration and advancing international education in Indonesia.
